Gary Maxey retired as the Craig County Associate District Judge on December 31, 2014, a position he had held since being appointed by Governor Brad Henry in 2003. Gary joined the law firm of Ward Lee & Coats as Of Counsel in January 2015. He is also currently the Director of Early Settlement for Northwestern Oklahoma with the Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Enid, Oklahoma.

Prior to his appointment to the position in Craig County, Gary had been a Special District Judge for the 4th Judicial District in Garfield County, as well as the First Assistant District Attorney for District 4 in Garfield County. From 1988 to 1992, Gary proudly served District 40 as its State Representative.

Gary represents citizens of northeast Oklahoma helping them with their legal needs. He also advises our attorneys and clients on various matters including criminal, civil, and family law related matters. With his 21 years experience as a sitting Judge, Gary’s insight and advice is very valuable information for our firm and its clients.
